The Black Alumni Reunion highlights the achievements of African Americans at GW and serves as a primary opportunity to engage the African American alumni community with GW programs and services.

Hosted by the GW Black Alumni Association, this year's reunion will include an exclusive tour and lecture at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African Art (as a part of the award-winning GW Culture Buffs series). The reunion concludes with an evening dinner cruise on the Odyssey.

Museum Tour: The Museum Tour is sold out. No walk-ins will be accepted. Venture underground and discover the treasured art of Africa at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African Art. Join your fellow alumni for a brunch reception and panel discussion on the topic “Black Women in Leadership,” which will feature GW Black alumni. Following the brunch, enjoy a self-guided tour of the National Museum of African Art, including the new museum-wide exhibit, Earth Matters: Land as Material and Metaphor in the Arts of Africa. Speakers for the lecture and panel discussion are:

• Anntoinette "Toni" White-Richardson CCAS BA ‘80
  Native Washingtonian; Education Specialist and Union President for the D.C. Public Library 

• Deborah Tillman, GSEHD MA ’02
  Child specialist (CEO of the Happy Home Child Learning Centers), TV host, teacher, author, and Lifetime TV's first true U.S. homegrown Supernanny
  
  
• Dr. Adele Alexander, Research Professor for the Departments of History, American Studies and Africana Studies, GW
  Areas of expertise include the black Atlantic world, African American history, family history, gender issues, military and social history

Registration includes a brunch reception, panel discussion, and self-guided tour of the National Museum of African Art. Attire: Business Casual

Dinner Cruise: Join fellow alumni for an evening of food, folks, and good, old-fashioned fun as we board The Odyssey for an "elegant escape on the water" — a dinner cruise on the Potomac.

Registration includes a boarding pass, dinner (with a bar), and a DJ and dancing. Attire: Business
