About

The GWupstart program at the Honey W. Nashman Center for Civic Engagement & Public Service presents the fall social innovation design workshops. These virtual workshops will focus on designing creative solutions to address the specific social issue for that session. Every session will cover the following:

  • background overview of the social issue at hand

  • active focus on ideation and design phases of the design thinking framework to create solutions,

  • importance of relationship building with community members

  • funding opportunities for student innovation projects

As attendees navigate these areas, they will also be encouraged to assess how the intersections of identity markers affect the way the social issue is addressed within different communities in order to promote equity in our diverse democracy.
