Event Description

Joanna Spear panelistJoin fellow GW alumni in Hawaii for an intimate salon dinner with Elliott School Professor Joanna Spear at the historic Outrigger Canoe Club. She will be in Honolulu to conduct a seminar for U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, and can speak on issues of national security and U.S.-Asia relations, among other topics.

Dr. Joanna Spear is Associate Professor of International Affairs and Director of the FAO Regional Sustainment Initiative at GW's Elliott School of International Affairs. She previously was the Director of the Elliott School's Security Policy Studies Program and the Founding Director of the National Security Studies Program, an executive education program serving the needs of the U.S. Department of Defense and other federal agencies. Dr. Spear is also a Senior Associate Fellow at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) in London. Before joining GW, Dr. Spear was Director of the Graduate Research Programme and a Senior Lecturer at the Department of War Studies, King's College, London.
