Event Description
Join fellow GW alumni in Los Angeles for a reception and discussion with Elliott School Professor Joanna Spear at the historic California Club. She will mainly discuss Brexit and its implications, but can also cover national security and U.S.-Asia relations.
Dr. Joanna Spear is Associate Professor of International Affairs and Director of the FAO Regional Sustainment Initiative at GW's Elliott School of International Affairs. She previously was the Director of the Elliott School's Security Policy Studies Program and the Founding Director of the National Security Studies Program, an executive education program serving the needs of the U.S. Department of Defense and other federal agencies. Dr. Spear is also a Senior Associate Fellow at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) in London. Before joining GW, Dr. Spear was Director of the Graduate Research Programme and a Senior Lecturer at the Department of War Studies, King's College, London.
Please note that the California Club observes a business casual dress code. Denim, athletic shoes, and flip flops are not permitted in the club.
