Located in Philip Amsterdam Hall, the GW Global Connections Residential Community (GCRC) is an academic residential community (ARC) that promotes international awareness and cross cultural competency by creating a space for international students, domestic students, and exchange students to live and learn together. Members of the community are sophomore and junior residents who seek to further their understanding of international topics, engage in cultural activities, and improve their fluency in foreign languages.
Any GW student who will be a sophomore or junior for the 2017-2018 academic year who is interested in immersing him/herself in an intercultural community is encouraged to apply to be a member of GW Global Connections Residential Community.
Eligibility:
+ Residency is open to students of all majors and schools of the University.
+All domestic students in this community should have an interest in global issues, culture, and desire to engage with other students from diverse backgrounds. Many past participants included residents preparing to study abroad or who had just returned from a semester abroad and wanted to enhance their worldviews.
+ All students must meet the eligibility requirements (hold a minimum 2.75 GPA and be in good judicial standing with the university at the time of program acceptance) and apply through this online application.
The deadline to submit an application is Monday, February 6th, 2017 at 5:00pm. New community members are selected by a committee of students, staff, and faculty. Applicants will be notified via email of their application status on February 13, 2017. Those who are selected must accept or decline their spot by February 17,2017 at 5pm. Accepted members will then register during the Affinity Housing application window which is February 27-March 1, 2017.
