Michael Herb is associate professor of political science at Georgia State University. He is the author of All in the Family: Absolutism, Revolution, and Democracy in the Middle Eastern Monarchies. He will discuss his new release The Wages of Oil: Parliaments and Economic Development in Kuwait and the UAE. Farah Al-Nakib, director of the Center for Gulf Studies and assistant professor of history at the American University of Kuwait, will offer comments.
