Washington, DC 20036

Description:

The Office of Alumni Relations and the GW LGBT Alumni Association invite you to enjoy an evening of conversation and networking with fellow alumni as we discuss recent events in the LGBT community.

6:30pm - Cocktail Reception
7:00pm - Remarks & Panel Discussion
8:15pm - Networking

Panelists will discuss the topic of transgender rights (the next step in LGBT equality).  Speakers include:

  • Kimberly Acquaviva, Associate Professor and Director of Faculty Affairs, GW School of Nursing
  • Lisa Mottet, Deputy Executive Director, National Center for Transgender Equality
  • Sterling Washington, CCAS '95, Director, Mayor's Office of GLBT Affairs

Registration is required.  In lieu of a registration fee, please consider making an annual gift to the GW LGBT Resource Center for student support.  Funds given to the LGBT Resource Center help support programs such as Transgender Inclusion tranings or LGBT Mentor Programs, and it allows GW to educate and advocate regarding sexual and gender identities expression to enhance an open, safe and welcoming campus community.

For more information or for questions, please e-mail lgbtalum@gwu.edu or call Alexa Mahinka at 202-994-7595.

This event has reached capacity.  We hope to see you at a future GW alumni event. Thank you!
