Issuing Guidance
The Dept. of Interior and the Social Security Administration both issued final rules rescinding previous rules related to an October 2019 executive order on agency practices for issuing guidance. Effective April 15 and May 21, respectively.
The Dept. of Homeland Security issued a request for comment "to inform an upcoming rulemaking that would address security standards and requirements for the issuance of mobile or digital driver's licenses to enable Federal agencies to accept these credentials for official purposes." Comments due June 18.
The U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services issued a request for public input on how the agency could reduce administrative burdens to foreign citizens seeking immigration services and benefits. Comments due May 19.
The Postal Service issued guidance on the mailing of electronic nicotine delivery systems.
The Dept. of Health & Human Services issued a proposed rule revising a March 2019 rule that "undermined the public health of the population the program is meant to serve," and would readopt previous regulations. Comments due May 17.
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau issued a proposed rule that would delay two 2020 rules related to debt collection practices from November 30, 2021 to January 29, 2022. Comments due May 19.
