The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services issued an interim final rule that "will test whether more closely aligning payment for Medicare Part B drugs and biologicals with international prices and removing incentives to use higher-cost drugs can control unsustainable growth in Medicare Part B spending without adversely affecting quality of care for beneficiaries." Effective November 27.
The Dept. of Health & Human Services issued a policy statement meant to encourage rulemaking best practices. Effective November 27.
HHS also issued a request for information to find regulations that do not meet this standard. Comments due December 21.
The Federal Communications Commission issued a final rule "to retarget universal service funding for mobile broadband and voice in the high-cost program to support the deployment of 5G services." Effective December 28.
The Dept. of Transportation issued a notice of proposed rulemaking "to update and codify its internal order establishing the responsibilities and procedures for complying with the National Environmental Policy Act." Comments due December 23.
The Dept. of Justice issued a final rule that would allow for executions by lethal injection or “any other manner prescribed by the law of the state in which the sentence was imposed.” Effective December 24.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission will host a forum regarding artificial intelligence on March 2, 2021. Anyone interested in participating should register by January 15.
