The Federal Railroad Administration issued a final rule modifying the process to request amendments to positive train control requirements, and expanding reporting requirements. Effective August 26.
Additionally, nineteen host railroads recently submitted requests for amendments. The FRA is seeking comments on these requests until August 16.
The Federal Trade Commission issued a final rule amending the agency's procedures that define unfair or deceptive practices. Effective July 22.
The Dept. of Energy issued a notice of proposed rulemaking to revert back to the definition of a "showerhead" used prior to a December 2020 rule. The DOE will host a webinar on August 31, and comments are due September 20.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued an advance notice of proposed rulemaking with potential reforms to improve the electric regional transmission planning and cost allocation and generator interconnection processes. Comments due October 12.
The Environmental Protection Agency issued a final rule establishing monitoring requirements for dispersant use in response to major discharges in waterways. Effective January 24, 2022.
The Dept. of Labor issued a notice of proposed rulemaking to implement an April 2021 executive order that raises the hourly minimum wage for government contractors to $15/hr. Comments due August 23.
