President Biden issued Executive Order 14043 which states, "to promote the health and safety of the Federal workforce and the efficiency of the civil service, it is necessary to require COVID-19 vaccination for all Federal employees, subject to such exceptions as required by law."
Other Notable Actions
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will host a public hearing on its proposed standards for passenger cars and light trucks on October 13.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services issued a proposed rule to repeal the Medicare Coverage of Innovative Technology and Definition of “Reasonable and Necessary” final rule that was scheduled to take effect in December. Comments due October 15.
The Tennessee Valley Authority issued a final rule regulating the unrestrained mooring of floating cabins on the Tennessee River System. Effective October 12.
The Food & Drug Administration issued a further effective date delay of a rule on tobacco product marketing requirements until October 11, 2022.
The FDA will host a workshop on opioid prescription practices on October 13-14, and is seeking comments on related regulations until December 3.
The Federal Communications Commission issued a notice related to the licensing of spectrum band to support unmanned aircraft operations. Comments due October 12.
