D.C. Mondays: The Leah Brock McCartney Mural Project

During the fall 2019 course “Black Feminist Theory,” students learned about the George Washington University Law School’s first Black female graduate, Leah Brock McCartney, LLB ’54. Inspired by McCartney’s lifetime of achievements, students have proposed the Leah Brock McCartney Project as their final project. Though originated as a course final, the project still underway. Learn about the initiative and how diligent students are fighting to turn a class project into a reality and to honor all the Black women who have been a part of GW since McCartney’s time.
